Serious Dillema...

I finally worked enough overtime and liquidated all of my assets to buy a new Zank in a Pearl Hup Blue "Grouppo Compacto" Edicion'
(This is a completely Premier item, and only 5 will be produced worldwide).

BUT, should I get a cross or road frame?

My dilemma is such. I would really like to have a really well built custom road frame, since I don't currently have one, but since its a Zank, I feel like it should and must be a cross frame.

Why can't I be a wealthy English Country side gentleman who needs not deal with such peasant like decision making?

ALSO!!!!

Recently I have been romantacizing about a truly Petite bourgeoisie lifestyle. My current dream is to move out into a much smaller city and living a quiet life as a man whose earnings come from the crafts created from workings of the hand.

Pictures like these get my blood boiling. (Japanese dudes making a sword)

Next year, I hope to take some basic metal shop classes as well as plumbing, electrical, and also accouting classes. My goal in the next ten years is to have my own super high end Plumbing/Electrician business.

That is three votes so far for Cross.

Split the difference and get a hybrid...it has the best qualities of all disciplines melded into one.

And you will be a lumpenprole for life!

Dude, don't you just love the different terminology used to indicate class?

wow! this is tough. . .i would vote cross, but cross is almost over, and would you really want to wait until next season to feel a zank between your legs?

not that i'm suggesting a hybrid, but what about something in between? like a randonee bike? got any plans to ride across the country? or from boston to Montreal and back again?

missing you at races BTW. how's it, um, hanging?

I am pretty sure I don't ever want to feel a Zank between my legs, but I was thinking of commssioning one of those Tall bikes(they are like 6 feet tall) I see hipsters riding around town with a big Pirate flag, and it will have like huge Zanconato stickers on every one of the 56 tubes the bike has.

I just want to give the Zank a hard time.

I miss you guys all, but I will return.

You want to buy the frame that the framebuilder has more passion for. Zanc races and seems to be all abour cx. End.

Sell the pig, buy a road bike.

I hear you guys.

Today I opened up the new cross magazine, and with magazines I always start at the back and look at all the photos and after that, I start reading the articles.

The first thing I see is the Zank Hup edition cross bike. I love how it looks. My mind is made up now. It is the Zank Cross bike.

I am tranquilo.

good choice...good choice.

what legnth top tube is it? :)

Utilizing a complex set of clamping mechanisms on the top and down tubes, the bike will have an adjustable top tube length which will change between 53cm (Early season) to 55cm (Racing)

It looks kind of hokey, but many of the european pros are using this setup.

Get the cross bike. It's a big part of your life, so do it. 'Sides, there are plenty of reasons that I could give you to get an ALU road frame that goes zoom, zoom, zoom.

I think that you should get the white HUP color scheme. MM's white with maroon badges is the shibby.

Yummmmmmy. A white Hup team bike ey?

I am also considering a Kandy Orange Hup Edition team bike with silver decals.

Dude, you need four bikes, all custom: Track, road, cross and winter training. You can get by with a non-custom commuter/city bike, but that should also have provenance (I believe you have an affected Langster?). You have a custom cross bike already. If you want another custom cross frame, sell the pig and buy those Zipps that you are secretly lusting after.
But then again, you do have a basement that is not full yet...hmm, I guess that you can get the Zank cross bike and keep the Pig. You mind as well start researching custom mtb frames, since you have the room and the space.
And forget you lumpenprole concerns, respond to all of those credit card offers that come in the mail and charge those bike parts!
